Biography
I graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in December 2022 with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in political science.
I was born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico and was raised in Lakeland, Florida and Tucson, Arizona.
A month after graduating from the Cronkite School, I began working for Phoenix Councilwoman Laura Pastor as her Communications Specialist. I manage media requests and inquiries, create graphics, post on the Councilwoman's official social media accounts and organize community meetings for District 4 constituents.

I interned as a city issues reporter and produced original stories in both English and Spanish for The Arizona Republic, the largest newspaper in the state of Arizona, during my final semester of undergrad.
There, I reported on Glendale, Peoria, and Surprise city councils.
As an immigrant and the first in my family to attend and graduate from a four-year institution in the United States, I find diversity and representation important. I was the first Spanish-language digital producer and editor for The State Press, Arizona State University's student-run news organization that was founded over a century ago.
At The State Press, I was in charge of copy-editing every article written in Spanish and overseeing one reporter who wrote original stories in the Spanish language geared towards ASU's Latino and Spanish-speaking community.
The State Press has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, Columbia Scholastic Press Association, National Scholastic Press Association and more.
I also worked as a bilingual digital reporter for Cronkite News, the news division of Arizona PBS, where I reported on social justice and immigration.

During the semester I spent at Cronkite News at Arizona PBS, I was the only digital reporter who reported and wrote stories in both Spanish and English.
I produced double the required amount of work expected from digital reporters that semester, and my stories were picked up by news outlets such as the Arizona Daily Star, Phoenix Business Journal, Univision, The Copper Courier, Arizona Mirror, and more.
I was also the co-president of ASU's chapter of NLGJA, The Association of LGBTQ Journalists from Spring 2021 until I graduated in December 2022.
